The Commonwealth of Learning (COL) is an intergovernmental organization created by Commonwealth Heads of Government to encourage the development and sharing of open learning/distance education knowledge, resources and technologies. COL is helping developing nations improve access to quality education and training.

The Caribbean Association for Distance and Open Learning (CARADOL) is a regional association that aims to promote and advance the use of Open and Distance Learning as a means of contributing to the developmental goals of the Caribbean, foster an understanding of the theory and practice of Open and Distance Learning and facilitate research and disseminate information within the Caribbean on Open and Distance Learning.

The Jamaican Association for Distance and Open Learning (JADOL) is a national association that aims to promote, enhance and develop the practice of distance and open learning in Jamaica for individual, institutional and national development.

The Trinidad and Tobago Distance Learning Association (TTDLA) aims to pursue the development of the human resource potential of citizens of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago through coordinated efforts that utilize a variety of distance learning modalities.

The Office of Continuing Education, Open and Distance Learning (OCEODL) at the University of Technology, Jamaica (UTech), aims to promote the educational goals and objectives of the University through the provision of access to flexible, open learning educational opportunities, including those available through distance education.

The University of the West Indies Distance Education Centre (UWIDEC) is the arm of the regional University of the West Indies (UWI) that aims to provide world class distance education for Caribbean people, and in so doing help UWI achieve its mandate of widening access to tertiary level education and training, thereby unlocking the potential of the region for growth and development.
