Abstract
In today's technologically-dominated world, all forms of ODL must acknowledge the role of the new technologies in making education more widely available.

This inevitably includes the open schools movement which is beginning to spread worldwide. However, in many countries the access to those new technologies for the potential students of open schools is still extremely limited. How can this limited access be rapidly overcome and what technologies should open schools concentrate on in the meantime, including the use of new technologies in appropriate forms? How can we overcome the internal digital divide?
